About

Local Pines

Local Pines came about after my husband, Jason, bought a CNC machine. Honestly, in the beginning I wasn’t a huge fan of the machine. It cost a lot of money (like a lot) and I had no idea how to work it (I still don’t know too much about it, Jason cuts everything) and I didn’t know all the potential it had.

We started slow and made a few things for family and friends. I got the hang of the designing program and started thinking of different things we could make. It was about two years after our wedding and I was looking at all the wedding cards I didn’t want to throw out but also had no idea what to do with them. I told Jason about this predicament and we made a wedding card holder.

Those did okay on Etsy but then we made a name puzzle for our nephew and those just took off! Then we had my favorite blogger, Dani Austin, talk about the name puzzles and we were blown away by the response!

2020 was the first year of our actual business and we’re so excited for 2021! There’s lots of new plans and products so we’re so happy you’re here to join us for the ride!

FACTS ABOUT CALLIE & Jason

Because "about me's" are weird and I don't know how to do them.

1. I (Callie) am the computer/customer experience/social media girl and Jason is the engineer/main maker/money guy for the business. We both have ideas for products and then work together to make them a reality! My claim to fame is the wedding card holder and Jason’s is the cribbage board. Almost all the other projects we worked on together through the whole process.

2. We are both avid readers. Jason more so than me. He’s a crazy fast reader and will read like 5 books a week sometimes.

3. We got married at Hodge Podge Lodge (where I was the venue manager at the time) in 2018. We moved to Fort Worth and are about to move back to the Conroe area to be closer to family hopefully this year. We love our Fort Worth life but we’re also super excited to be closer to family.

4. I've always had an entrepreneurs spirit. Even as a child. Me and my friends would raise tadpoles from the creek across our house to sell as frogs (no one wanted them though so they were eventually all released), and we had a game where we built a town and guess what my job that I created for myself was?? I owned an insurance company. I was 10, I didn't even know what insurance was! So when we had the idea to start Local Pines I was all in. Jason kind of got sucked into but I like to think he loves it now! He sure does commit a lot of his time to it not to love it.

5. Our dog, Bas, is the cutest. He's my work buddy and goes everywhere (possible) with us! His favorite places are Lowes (we go there VERY often) and the park!
